About the role
United States | Full-time | Remote, occasional travel required
The role
You’ll get Evergrid’s customers live by leading the build-out of data-center infrastructure and commissioning of high-density GPU/HPC clusters. From technical kickoff through launch and into steady-state operations, you’ll own each deployment end to end—translating unclear customer requirements into concrete, actionable plans for physical infrastructure delivery.
This is a hands-on role: you’ll work onsite as needed at data centers, drive deployments involving power and cooling (including liquid cooling), and lead pod and cluster-level commissioning and testing. You'll work cross-functionally with platform, infrastructure, and supplier teams, as well as being the person customers trust to get their hardware online on schedule.
What you’ll own
Customer deployments end to end, from technical kickoff to physical delivery, with clear milestones, owners, and go-live criteria.
Deployment plans that turn evolving requirements into clear technical specs, scoped work, and step-by-step paths to physical cluster commissioning.
On-the-ground technical leadership for cluster bring-up, integration, and testing at data centers—including power, cooling, liquid-cooling, and scalable pod design/commissioning.
Close coordination with vendors and suppliers for timely hardware procurement, rack-elevation and power/cooling needs, and effective supply-chain management.
Oversight of deployment schedules, logistics, and resource assignments to ensure clusters go live as committed.
Early risk identification and sound tradeoffs under pressure that keep launches on schedule.
Monitoring and stabilizing physical infrastructures after go-live, through handoff to steady-state site operations.
Building repeatable deployment playbooks and improving Evergrid’s physical infrastructure processes based on learnings from each launch.
What you bring
5+ years of experience deploying and commissioning complex data-center infrastructure or large-scale GPU/HPC clusters, ideally with enterprise customers.
A track record of driving hardware deployment programs to hard deadlines across multiple teams, both inside and outside your company.
Deep working knowledge of data center power and cooling, including liquid cooling systems, networking (leaf/spine, structured cabling), and scalable rack/pod design and testing.
Strong experience working directly with vendors, suppliers, and data center operators, including managing supply chains, deployment schedules, rack elevations, and facilities-level power/cooling delivery.
Clear communication on complex technical topics, with engineers, vendors, and executives alike.
Comfort working directly with customers onsite and owning outcomes end to end.
A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for sketching layouts or visualizing rack elevations.
