About the role

About Future Works

Large companies spend billions on consulting and implementation projects to adopt new technology. Most of that work is slow and expensive, and too often it fails to deliver. Future Works replaces it. We rebuild the operations that move a company's P&L in twelve-week cycles, run by senior experts and fleets of AI agents, with our fees tied to outcomes our clients' own finance teams verify. We deliver in twelve weeks what incumbents quote at two years.

We work with large companies in energy, construction, real estate and other asset-heavy industries. Every role here is built around humans and agents working as one system. Whatever the seat, we look for high energy, high agency and a real interest in building with AI.

The Role

Our clients own real estate, and the numbers that describe it live in a dozen systems that were never designed to agree with each other. As the Solution Architect, you design the platform that makes them agree: built inside the client's own cloud, fed by systems you are not allowed to change, and trusted enough that the figures coming out of it go in front of an investment committee.

This is a real estate seat. You need to have done this work in the sector, because the architecture decisions that matter here are the ones that only make sense once you know how a close actually runs.

You own the technical design. An Operating Director owns the account, an Engagement Manager runs delivery, and you work with a data and technology lead and engineers from our shared team to build it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture Ownership: Own the end-to-end design of a client-owned platform, from how data arrives to what each team sees, and the security and access model around it.

  • Integration Design: Design how we read from systems we cannot change and must never write back to, and how data from each of them is reconciled into one record.

  • Defensible Numbers: Architect how a reported figure is produced, checked against its source, and still defensible six months later when someone questions it.

  • The AI Layer: Decide where agents do the work and where they stop, so nothing probabilistic ever lands on a number the client reports.

  • Handover: Document the architecture and the decisions behind it so the client's own team can extend the platform after we leave.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

  • Real Estate, Hands On: You have built or run reporting for institutional owners, operators or fund managers. You know fund, entity, asset and JV hierarchies, rent rolls and operating statements, budget against actual and trailing twelve months, debt covenants and their test dates, and what it costs downstream when a number does not tie. Expect to be asked about a specific close you were accountable for.

  • Experience: 5+ years in solution or platform architecture, or senior engineering with real architecture ownership.

  • Cloud: Hands-on design in Azure, covering identity, network isolation and secrets management. AWS as well is a plus.

  • Data Platform: You have designed a warehouse or lakehouse that a finance team depended on, including the orchestration and the data quality checks, not just the storage.

  • Technical Breadth: Python services, APIs, PostgreSQL or similar, and modern web application architecture.

  • Enterprise Reality: You have delivered around systems you were not allowed to touch, in a landscape where spreadsheets are a system of record.

  • Auditable Delivery: You have been personally on the hook for a number an executive questioned, and you could show where it came from.

  • AI Architecture: Extraction, retrieval with sources, agent orchestration, evaluation and guardrails, plus the judgment to keep a model away from a reported figure.

  • Client-Facing Presence: You can run a technical workshop with a client's data owners and defend your design to a CFO.

  • AI-Native Workflow: You use coding agents in your own daily work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience retiring a legacy platform: the migration, the parallel run, and the evidence that let the client switch the old one off.

  • Fixed-scope delivery where the fee did not move when the work got harder.

  • Adjacent asset-heavy reporting, in energy or infrastructure, on top of the real estate.
