About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Front End based in Canada.
We are looking for a talented Front-End Software Engineer to take ownership of critical web applications powering innovative digital investment and financial services experiences. In this role, you will operate as a lead product engineer, driving the development of partner-facing platforms and customer onboarding solutions from initial design through production release. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams to build intuitive, scalable, and reliable applications. Your work will include complex onboarding journeys, financial account management dashboards, and self-service tools that improve operational efficiency for business partners. You will also contribute to architectural decisions, API integrations, and continuous improvements across multiple codebases. This is an exciting opportunity to take significant technical ownership, influence product direction, and help make sophisticated investing capabilities more accessible through modern financial technology.
Accountabilities
Requirements
At least 4 years of professional experience building and maintaining production web applications using React and TypeScript. Strong expertise in modern front-end development, including component-based architecture, reusable UI patterns, responsive interfaces, and maintainable application design. Experience with modern front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS. Familiarity with component libraries and development tools such as Radix UI, React Aria, and Storybook. Strong experience developing complex, multi-step forms and data-intensive interfaces, including validation, conditional workflows, edge cases, and error-state management. Experience with form and data management tools such as React Hook Form, Zod, and SWR. Working knowledge of Node.js and server-side application development, particularly Koa, gRPC, and PostgreSQL. This role requires experience beyond browser-only front-end development. Ability to collaborate effectively with Backend Engineers to define API contracts, understand data models, and resolve integration challenges. Experience translating product requirements and design specifications into functional, polished, and production-ready applications. Understanding of software release processes, including preview environments, user acceptance testing, and production deployment. Strong product-oriented mindset, with the ability to understand user needs and business objectives rather than simply implementing predefined technical tasks. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches and recommend better solutions. High levels of independence, initiative, and accountability, with the ability to identify priorities and move projects forward without constant supervision. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where requirements may be ambiguous and responsibilities extend beyond a narrowly defined role. Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.Additional qualifications that would be an advantage:
Previous experience in fintech, brokerage, banking, or financial services technology. Familiarity with brokerage account onboarding, identity verification, regulatory compliance, and financial account opening workflows. Experience building white-label, embedded, or co-branded applications for B2B partners. Experience integrating financial technology SDKs and third-party services such as Plaid and Persona. Familiarity with authentication and feature management platforms such as Auth0 and LaunchDarkly. Experience integrating electronic signature tools or other financial services infrastructure. Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code or similar technologies.
