Leveraging its differentiated RAS(ON) tri-complex inhibitor platform, the company is advancing a broad, integrated portfolio of oral RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to directly target the active, cancer-driving state of RAS. Founded on rigorous scientific inquiry and a willingness to challenge long-held assumptions, Revolution Medicines is committed to changing the trajectory of disease for patients with RAS-addicted cancers worldwide.
Our people are united by a shared way of working: follow the science, challenge assumptions, act with urgency and hold ourselves to a high standard of rigor—all in service of patients.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Early Stage, Global Commercial Development – Pancreatic Cancer, this role will lead the global commercial strategy to enable earlier identification and diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The Senior Director will shape the future early-detection ecosystem—connecting science, screening and surveillance pathways, diagnostic innovation, healthcare delivery, and disease education—with Revolution Medicines’ longer-term early-stage portfolio ambitions. This is a strategic and hands-on position requiring deep cross-functional influence, external ecosystem engagement, and the ability to build markets before established commercial pathways exist. The position is primarily remote, with travel for scientific, stakeholder, and team meetings.
Specifically, you will be responsible for
-
Set disease-area strategy: Own the global commercial market-shaping strategy for pancreatic cancer early detection, including high-risk identification, surveillance, symptom recognition, diagnostic work-up, and referral to multidisciplinary care.
-
Map the patient journey: Identify barriers and opportunities from first symptoms or high-risk status through imaging, testing, specialist referral, diagnosis, staging, and access to treatment; develop hypotheses to improve pathways to earlier-stage care.
-
Evaluate diagnostics innovation: Assess the emerging landscape of blood-based detection tests, molecular biomarkers, AI-enabled imaging, radiology tools, and other diagnostic approaches; translate evidence maturity and workflow requirements into commercial implications.
-
Build the external ecosystem: Develop a strategic map of academic centers, NCI and other research networks, healthcare delivery partners, technology and diagnostic companies, and patient advocacy organizations; recommend priority partnership opportunities.
-
Develop market insights and forecasts: Lead global market research, epidemiology and patient-flow analyses, screening/adoption scenarios, potential stage-shift assumptions, and evidence-based assessments of the opportunity and investment required to enable earlier diagnosis.
-
Shape education strategies: Partner with Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Patient Advocacy, and appropriate review functions on compliant, unbranded disease-awareness, provider education, and patient-engagement strategies that address knowledge and referral gaps.
-
Advance evidence and access planning: Collaborate with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Precision Medicine/Diagnostics, Market Access, and external partners to identify evidence needs, operational dependencies, and payer or health-system considerations for emerging detection approaches.
-
Engage priority stakeholders: Translate insights from gastroenterologists, high-risk surveillance programs, primary care, radiology, genetics, pancreatic surgeons, oncology teams, and advocacy groups into practical market-shaping priorities.
-
Connect detection to the portfolio: Coordinate with daraxonrasib and zoldonrasib early-stage commercial leaders to ensure early-detection planning is informed by likely treatment pathways, molecular testing needs, and future patient-identification opportunities.
-
Lead global strategic planning: Prepare executive-level recommendations, scenario analyses, measurable milestones, and phased investment plans; align U.S. and key ex-U.S. perspectives with the broader pancreatic cancer disease-area strategy.
-
Manage strategic partners: Select and direct agencies, research vendors, and specialist partners; establish effective ways of working and deliver integrated, high-quality outputs within budget.
-
Build modern capabilities: Partner with IS Commercial and analytics teams to apply digital, omnichannel, and data-driven approaches to ecosystem intelligence and appropriately reviewed disease education.
-
Up to 50% of travel required.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years, or advanced degree with at least 8 years, of progressive commercial experience in a biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical company, including strategic marketing and ideally sales.
-
Proven success developing and executing global commercial strategy and influencing cross-functional product or disease-area teams.
-
Demonstrated ability to derive actionable insights and analytics that inform innovative commercial strategies and investment decisions.
-
Strong leadership, with the ability to lead teams, collaborate effectively across functions, and influence without direct authority.
-
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively and deliver results within established timelines.
-
Strong clinical and scientific acumen; ability to translate preclinical and clinical data into commercial implications.
-
Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills; ability to represent Revolution Medicines effectively with external stakeholders.
-
Entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and passion for improving outcomes for people with cancer.
-
Ability to assess the clinical, economic, and practical feasibility of screening, surveillance, and diagnostic strategies in a setting where scientific and commercial evidence continues to evolve.
Preferred Skills:
-
Experience in pancreatic or other gastrointestinal cancers, oncology diagnostics, or development of new disease-area markets.
-
Experience with screening or surveillance initiatives, molecular diagnostics, liquid biopsy, imaging, or AI-enabled diagnostic pathways.
-
Experience building external alliances across industry, academic medicine, patient advocacy, and healthcare systems.
-
Prior involvement with a global oncology product launch or major market-creation initiative in a competitive environment.
-
Experience in a smaller, rapidly growing company with evolving operating models.
