About the role
About Echo
Echo delivers frontier-hardened software across the enterprise software supply chain.
Echo's containers, libraries, OS packages, VMs, and more are built and patched from source by agentic pipelines, and continuously vetted for supply chain threats. With us, developers and agents can build with secure-by-default software that's compatible with the tools and versions they already use.
We're looking for a Low Level Engineer to join our team and build the OS behind Echo's containers, libraries and VMs, and the system foundation for every artifact we ship.
What you'll do
Design and build the core infrastructure our customers rely on, supporting our secured artifacts: CVE-free containers, libraries, and VMs
Build and maintain support systems for multiple Linux distributions, ensuring seamless integration with existing development workflows
Harden our operating systems and artifacts to meet standards such as FIPS and STIG
Own complex projects from technical planning through execution and delivery, working closely with Product, our AI engineers, researchers, and other engineers to integrate low-level infrastructure with our AI-powered factory
What you bring
Required
5+ years of experience developing large-scale projects within development teams
Deep, hands-on experience with Go, C, and/or C++
Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, kernel concepts, and system-level programming
Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Preferred
Experience with Linux packaging and distribution internals (apt, apk, rpm)
Research background, for example in vulnerability research or reverse engineering
Familiarity with software supply chain security
