About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Endpoint Engineer (C++ / Systems) based in India.
We are looking for a skilled mid-to-senior-level Endpoint Engineer to develop high-performance, reliable endpoint sensing technologies for an advanced AI-native cybersecurity platform. In this role, you will design and maintain a cross-platform endpoint sensor using modern C++17, deployed across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. You will work on low-level systems engineering, host and network telemetry collection, memory management, and performance optimization while ensuring minimal resource consumption on customer devices. You will take ownership of engineering projects from initial requirements through implementation, testing, and delivery, working closely with a multidisciplinary international engineering team. You will also leverage advanced AI tools and agents daily to accelerate development, explore unfamiliar technologies, and solve complex technical challenges. This remote opportunity offers significant technical autonomy, direct customer interaction, and the chance to contribute to innovative cybersecurity solutions within a collaborative, engineering-driven environment.
Accountabilities:
Requirements:
At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in systems programming, low-level development, or performance-sensitive software engineering. At least 4 years of hands-on experience with modern C++, including strong proficiency in C++17. At least 3 years of practical systems programming experience, with a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, operating system internals, kernel responsibilities, and memory management. At least 3 years of experience developing multithreaded applications, managing concurrency, and ensuring thread safety in performance-sensitive environments. At least 3 years of experience with memory management and memory safety, including developing stable, efficient, and resource-conscious software. At least 3 years of experience optimizing software performance, particularly in systems-level applications. At least 3 years of experience with software testing, correctness, reliability engineering, and robust failure handling. Strong understanding of the potential impact of software failures on customer systems and the importance of building dependable production-grade applications. Daily, hands-on experience using AI agents and advanced AI models to support software engineering activities, solve unfamiliar technical problems, and work independently across complex codebases. Demonstrated ability to use large language models (LLMs) for technical research, learning new technologies, and managing multiple engineering projects effectively. Proven ability to take full ownership of engineering projects, independently establish priorities, and deliver high-quality results without constant supervision. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and develop practical solutions. A customer-oriented mindset, with the confidence and willingness to communicate directly with customers and remain accountable until technical issues are resolved. Ability to prioritize urgent, high-impact engineering tasks while maintaining high standards of technical quality and reliability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical implementations and communicate engineering decisions clearly. A proactive and collaborative working style, with a willingness to share progress, raise concerns early, and contribute to team improvements. Openness to constructive feedback, a continuous learning mindset, and the ability to reconsider or replace existing solutions when better approaches are identified. Strong attention to detail, professional integrity, and a commitment to transparent communication and consistent delivery. Willingness and ability to work remotely while maintaining alignment with UK working hours.Additional Information:
Candidates with strong Windows systems engineering experience are particularly encouraged to apply. Previous experience with Linux and macOS is not mandatory, as knowledge of these platforms can be developed on the job. Previous cybersecurity industry experience is not required. Strong systems programming and engineering fundamentals are the primary focus.Nice-to-have qualifications:
Experience with network packet processing, network telemetry, or network sensing technologies. Knowledge of eBPF, operating system kernel development, or device driver development. Previous experience in endpoint security, endpoint protection, or Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions. Familiarity with CMake, Docker-based build environments, and cross-platform software development and deployment. Experience with Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) or OpenTelemetry. Practical programming experience with Python.
